This step involves installing the back up files of the driver before the update and installed it again to your computer.
- Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
- At Run dialog box, type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter or click OK to open Device Manager section
- At Device manager window, click on Display Adapters to expand it. A list of Display Adapters installed on your computer.
- Right Click on the Display Adapter and Click on Properties at the drop down menu.
- At Properties window, Click on Driver tab.
- At Driver tab, Locate Roll Back Driver button. If it is grayed out, this means that graphics driver was not recently update and or there are no back up files to roll back to. If the Button is available, click on it.
- Then, click OK to exit Properties section.

Step 3: Enable Onboard Sound in BIOS
Onboard sound devices are automatically disabled when an external sound devices are connected to your computer or when a new graphics card driver has been installed. Try Enabling Onboard Sound Device in BIOS to help fix solve the issue.
- Turn ON computer and press BIOS key to enter BIOS settings. Bios Keys are usually keys F1. F2 and DEL.
- At BIOS settings set up utility, click on Advanced tab.
- Navigate through the Advanced tab and select the option Onboard Devices Configuration.
- Under Audio Controller, Locate sound settings and then press Enter to Enable.
- Hover to the exit section and choose Exit to save changes.
- Reboot computer.

Step 4: Run Audio Troubleshooter
Troubleshooter on Windows detect problems and issues and recommends solutions on how to fix them. In order to fix Audio problem with Nvidia, you need to RUN Audio Troubleshooter
- At the search bar on your Windows, type “Troubleshooting”
- Click on Troubleshooting settings result.
- At Troubleshoot window, click on Additional Troubleshooters.
- At Get up and Running section, click on Playing Audio option
- Then, click on Run the Troubleshooter button. A message appear asking which devices you want to troubleshoot, choose your Audio device and then click on next. Windows will now start the troubleshoot process. wait for it to complete.
- After troubleshoot process is complete, and troubleshooting could not identify the problem click on Close.
Check if Nvidia High Definition Audio No Sound issue still occurs.
Step 5: Update the Nvidia drivers manually

One factor that can cause this problem is a corrupted display driver. To find out if this is the culprit, you will have to reinstall the graphic drivers.
- Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
- At Run dialog box, type “msconfig“ and press Enter or click OK to open System Configuration section.
- When System Configuration opens, click the Boot tab. Under Boot options, check Safe boot then click OK. When you’re prompted to restart your computer to apply these changes, click Restart then you will boot into Safe Mode.
- Go to your local hard disk by clicking on This PC then Local Disk C. You should be able to see the NVIDIA folder right there. Right-click on it and choose Delete.
- Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
- At Run dialog box, type “devmgmt.msc” in the run box and click the OK button which should open the Device Manager Window.
- Expand the “Display Adapters” field. This will list all network adapters that the machine has installed. Right click on the Nvidia adapter you want to uninstall and select “Uninstall”.
- Click “OK” when prompted to uninstall the device. This will remove the adapter from the list and uninstall the driver.
- Press Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open RUN dialog box.
- At Run dialog box, type “msconfig“ and press Enter or click OK to open System Configuration section.
- When System Configuration opens, click the Boot tab. Under Boot options, uncheck Safe boot then click OK.
- When you’re prompted to restart your computer to apply these changes, click Restart.
- Download the latest NVIDIA driver for your computer from here https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx.
- Run the setup file and follow the instructions which appear on screen. Choose the Custom installation option and check all the boxes in the custom install options windows. Also check the box which states “perform clean install”.
- Restart your computer
After Driver updates, Check if Nvidia High Definition Audio No sound issue still occurs.
